   As soon as I run the update, the system tells me to deactivate and then activate formidable again. Thereafter, I cannot access the wordpress, or plugins - throws me a blank screen in Firefox. IE throws me "cannot find server".

   The only way I could fix it was to delete the formidable directory and then reinstall the directory from a backup. I currently have version 1.05.05 installed.
