So I've been asked to create a plugin by a client which I would like to charge them for and give them a 6 month exclusivity before releasing it under GPL and have it hosted on WordPress.org.
I'm confused as to which license I should use here... I'm happy to release it under GPL to my client but was wondering if I could add the GPL after the 6 months is up? My understanding is that if I create a plugin for a specific client that this is not classes as "distribution" and so does not need to be released under GPL but am getting a little confused.
