Hi, I wonder if you can't add space for additional action buttons as well. For Example I love your plugin but I desperatly need to add a FLATTR Action button to it.

    Thanks

Hi, I'm looking at having the ability to easily support additional action buttons after reworking a lot of internal architecture in a future version (1.5, a few months away). In the meantime, I looked at the flattr API, and it looks like there's an easy way to create a flattr "button" as a custom link.

First, the primary advantages of using this method are that the button will resize automatically to fit the frame, the page will load faster, and implementation is easier. The only disadvantage is that you don't get the count. You could get that with a full implementation, but that would require html/js knowledge on your part, then editing some theme and plugin files (see this if you want to do that).

So, the implementation. First, add a custom link where you want the button to go. The url should be https://flattr.com/submit/auto?user_id=[USERNAME]&url=[URL]&title=[TITLE]&description=[DESCRIPTION]&language=[LANGUAGE]&tags=[TAGS]&hidden=[HIDDEN]&category=[CATEGORY]. All of the parameters are optional after URL are optional; more info on what each thing is, is here: http://developers.flattr.net/auto-submit/.

Then for the image, I would recommend using either this one or this one, as they will match the other icons nicely. Be sure to download them, then upload them to your own blog though, as I found them through an image search. You could also use one of the recommended ones or create your own, depending on how you want it to display (you could even include the count in the image, and set an arbitrary number...)

Any questions? Does this do what you were looking for?
