Flexi Pages Widget
Links only working with page ID and not postname (2 posts)

I like flexi pages, and would love it except for one thing.

When I click on the link on the side bar on my page, it goes to the url ending in a page ID instead of the postname. I'm not using the url to my site, since I don't want to get into trouble for trying to use it as a portal. I put in URL where my site address would be.

    Example

    http://www.url.com/?page_id=394

    instead of

    http://www.url.com/angels/

The page Id url always reverts back to the homepage.

Is there a work around or another plugin like flexi pages?

Is there something I else I can do with the permilink besides using the default page ID?

I like the pretty post name, but I heard that could have problems with large sites. Should I change the permalink anyhow? I'm still at the point where I can do this.

Note, since I'm transfering my site into wordpress, I have the static homepage set to index.html and not the wordpress home page. I did this so my site isn't down while transferring it, and I could create the parent and subpages. Would that have any effect?

Thanks for any help or suggestions.

I have the same issue but I'm guessing the plugin must identify the page universally (for all users) not only the one's using permalink static pages, i.e. /%category%/%postname%/.

I don't think this would influence SEO/Search Engines. If your using All In One SEO Pack plugin religiously you should be fine.

Clicking other internal links on your site, one's not in the list associated with the widget (i.e. custom menu's), the 'postname' shows in the URL. If your using All In One SEO Pack the title you place in there will show up in the browser header.

I'm using this plugin as a dropdown for previous year pages to save room in the sidebar for current pages (not posts) so the ID instead of postname should not be an issue for SEO.
