    Hi,

Fitvids was recommended to me by the developer of my studiopress theme, "Balance". Balance is a responsive theme an I'm trying to fix the sizing of a youtube video on a post.

Sorry, I'm not a coder just a writer. what I did was
embed the following video code on the HTML side on my wordpress site.
    <iframe src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/eOhwBifpWdI?rel=0" frameborder="0" width="560" height="315"></iframe>

But it's not working, the video is showing incorrectly on my iphone.

Thank you for any help you can provide.

    R.Miguel

the video is posted on the most current post on my site here at r-miguel dot com

have you checked the settings page of the plugin? You need to be sure to set the selector.

ah, I left this part empty, since I didn't understand what to put here.
Any hints as to what to input?

    Enter jQuery Selector
Add a CSS selector for FitVids to work.

    Thanks

you will want to but the css selector that contains your video. what does this meen?

    html
    body
    div.post

might be the layout of your html.

the div.post would be a div with the "post" class. this is common for wp themes. if there is video html in that div with the "post" class you would set the settings page field to ".post".

the other option is just to set it to "body" to select the whole document.

    P.S. dont use the quotes

This was confusing. What jQuery selector do you add to Enter jQuery Selector field?

It also says, "Add a CSS selector for FitVids to work." What and where do I add this?

What do you wrap the video link with in the WP page? I'm using Youtube.

This is a tough one because to use the plugin you really need to know a little jQuery. The field you are talking about in the div that the video is wrapped in.

You can use this blog post to help you out.

I have read over these directions and tried numerous different methods for the past 4-5 hours to no avail. I am using the "FitVids" plugin. I would be MOST GRATEFUL if you could help! I am not an expert at coding, but I probably have the same skills as kuban111. THANK YOU!

    I used these instead:

    Responsive Video Embeds
This plugin will automatically resize video embeds, objects and other iframes in a responsive fashion.

    Select Viper's Video Quicktags
Easily embed videos from various video websites such as YouTube, DailyMotion, and Vimeo into your posts.

So you used two plugins for the same purpose, or did you use one over the other?

@Stakos1 since you already know that I'm not a code, just a writer. I'll try my best to help. Did you follow the directions Kevin gave? What JQuery selector are you using? I used the "body" tag as per Kevin's suggestion.

    Cheers Michael

after hours of attempts, reading the forum, going to "Need Help" for "Enter jQuery Selector" (w3schools.com) I have no idea what any of this means (.host, .body etc...

I simply wish to have responsive resizing on an iframe wrapped asset in the Avada theme in WP.

Surely this must be easier than it appears?

    Thank-you for the assist.
