File Gallery
[resolved] Wishlist - Upload files from File Gallery meta box (16 posts)

    Hi,

    Just a wishlist...

Would it be possible to add a dedicated UPLOAD/INSERT button in the File Gallery meta box (in the post edit screen)? I thought this would be nice because there was a case where I got rid of the text editor all together (including the MEDIA buttons) to have a post-type dedicated for photo gallery only.

    Just a suggestion... Cheers! ;)

    @bedex78: it's been added in 1.7-RC9.

The latest development version is 1.7-RC13, and v1.7 final should be out at the same time WordPress 3.3 is out.

You can download latest dev version from here: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/file-gallery/download/

Is it stable enough for production (with WP 3.2.1)?

I had tested out 1.7-RC13. Looks great! However, it's not really what I had in mind. I was hoping for an UPLOAD button to ADD more images (attachments), that is, besides the insert gallery and single image buttons. Because I am planning to get rid of the text editor and all the media buttons all together for a certain use case.

Also it would also be good if we can crop images from the File Gallery meta box. Just a thought...

Cheers for the plugin, by the way!

PS: Does it support qTranslate also for translation, just as it supports WPML?

Oh, sorry.. I spoke too soon.... I just noticed the 'ADD FILES' button on the sides. Great work! Keep it up!

@bedex78: cropping already is on my near-future to-do list, I'll take a look at qTranslate :)

Geee, it is such a small icon... It should be more visible. And why not show the upload field used by WP. It could be very nice (a clic less to do).

@Li-An: upload field will come, but it's not as easy to implement as copy/pasting the code :)

I'll see about making the upload button more prominent.

I can imagine :-) I just noticed that Faster Insert Image http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/faster-image-insert/ did the trick.

File Gallery v1.7.4-RC2 is available for download from here: http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/file-gallery.1.7.4-RC2.zip

It supports multiple editors and drag and drop upload of files by dragging them onto File Gallery interface.

If you can, please test these features and tell me if they work alright or not.

    Thanks! :)

Hello, I am surprised as the official 1.7.4 version does not seem to contain the feature ?

@Li-An: it'll be included in 1.7.5, I had to release another bugfix version and gave it a version number 1.7.4 without thinking much about it - sorry. I'll release 1.7.5 this weekend.

I've uploaded a new beta version of the plugin (1.7.5-beta-1), you can download it and test from here: http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/file-gallery.zip.

Please test the drag&drop upload :)

    Thanks!
