[Plugin: File Gallery] Media Library – "sort by"

    Hello Aesqe,
    Is there any possibility how to implement some “standard sorting” of attachments into the Media Library? I mean some select box “Sort by: Name, Size, etc.” and the box for a selection of “Asc, Desc” order of the attachments.

    It would be very usefull for inserting attachments into File Gallery…

    The default “sort by date DESC” is really annoying, especially in the case of hundreds attachmenst with non-consistent names… (disabling the effective use of “Filter Media”).

    A am absolutely surprised I was not able to Google out some plugin/filter (or some “hack” of core files solution).

    This has been added in WordPress core, you can now sort items by column names in both ways.

    Sorting by file size or picture dimensions would probably result in too many SQL queries, but I’ll test it out.

    The Media Library Shortcode plugin allows you to display and sort the media library by type.

    Hello,
    the WP3.2+ has that feature in its core, as Aesqe mentioned above.
    As far as the attachments in page/post are concerned the FILE-GALLERY plugin is perfect solution, especially in the latest version(s). Nevertheless, thanks.
