Verify your login and password to your local database.
The default login name is "root" with no password.
I point out that these are the parameters of the Joomla database.

It is because the Joomla database is not accessible from the WordPress host with the user and password you provided.
You must give access to the WordPress host on your Joomla database.

Using the login and user you provided to me, I succeeded to make your WordPress host connect to your Joomla database. Now you don't have the "Access denied for user" message anymore.
But the plugin doesn't import anything. It is because your Joomla version is 1.0. My plugin is only compatible with Joomla 1.5.

what actually mean "You must give access to the WordPress host on your Joomla database"?
I'm running into the same problem and the username, DB and password are correct (taken from Joomla config file)

So it should work. Please double check the DB host, database, username and password.

    Sorry, it worked, wicked!
In fact I was on a different host. Once I've moved on the same host everything went fine.
Your plugin worked perfectly: text, formatting and pictures.
It's a little gem, well done and thank you.
