Using WP 3.3.2 Networked Sites. Tried install on 2 of them, both times plugin caused server error 500 on both the admin and user side. Had to delete the plugin files to get control back.

Same here. Completely broken on 3.3.2. This is a display bug it seems.
On my blog, my widgets stopped working when it got to the 'Recent News' widget. When I loaded up the blog view, I got a 500 Server Error. The backend stuff is working as it had fetched and posted new stories, which I was able to see when I deactivated the plugin.
