[resolved] Problem with permalinks and custom post types (8 posts)

    Hi. First, thanks for this wonderful and extremely important plugin.

    This is my issue. Initially I set Feedwordpress to make the permalink point to the original site. That option works when FWP publishes the content as posts. But it doesn't work if it publishes the content as a custom post type: the permalink goes to my own blog.

    Is this a known issue? Any solution? Thanks!

    Hi,

    I had the same issue. The solution is to edit the feedwordpress.php,
    on line 169 it says:
    add_filter('post_link', 'syndication_permalink', /*priority=*/ 1, /*arguments=*/ 3);

    This part only handles Posts from the Post-Type post.
    You'll need to add a line beneath to make the permalinks work for custom Post-Types:
    add_filter('post_type_link', 'syndication_permalink', /*priority=*/ 1, /*arguments=*/ 3);

    I hpoe the author of the Plugin reads this and the solution will find its way into the next update. (Unfortunately the Plugin hasn't been updated for a long time)

    Cheers

    I was hoping that you might be able to address this in 2012.1212 - but it seems like it is still there.

    Hey y'all,

    Thanks for the bug report on this. I just pushed a fix for this issue to the development version of FeedWordPress on Github, and the fix will also be in the upcoming incremental release to FWP, which should be released tomorrow. (Monday 12/17.)

    Hey y'all,

    So, just wanted to let you know that the fix for this issue should be available in 2012.1218, released today (announcement here: http://feedwordpress.radgeek.com/2012/12/18/feedwordpress-2012-1218/ , code available through WordPress plugin repository here: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/feedwordpress/ or at Github here: https://github.com/radgeek/feedwordpress ). Let me know if this works for you; for the time being, I'll mark this issue as resolved, if that's alright.
