cosmicjellybabyThis may sound counter-intuitive, but is there anyway of preventing the auto population of the manual excerpt field when you import a post using feedworpress. I only ask because on my site I want to show the briefest of snippets of the original post but then send the user on their merry way to view the full article at source. Depending upon feeds, sometimes the full post is inserted into the manual excerpt field. I am using the_excerpt to show syndicated posts in my theme - I wondered perhaps if there was a way that this could be forced to use the first x characters even when there's a manual excerpt...
