Force update of existing posts in feed? (3 posts)

I couldn't find any help with this so let me ask.

After adding a new custom post key for 'media_content' in a particular feed setup in FeedWordPress I'd like for the current posts in feed that have already been syndicated to pickup and save this value. But it seems impossible to have FeedWordPress force-refresh every item in feed. Is there any way to have FeedWordPress treat all the posts in the feed as needing to be updated?

    Thanks, David

In order to get FeedWordPress to update all the posts from a particular feed, you first have to delete the original posts permanently. Just moving them to trash won't work - you have to go into trash, select them, and select Delete Permanently.

Once you do this, if you update the feed, it will reload all available posts.

I just had the same problem today - I added some custom fields to my posts, and wanted to refresh all the previous posts from the feed. It worked once I deleted everything. Thankfully, you don't have to remove the feed and readd it.

@CristianDiaz - thank you. Confirmed that this is correct. That's pretty straightforward and I must have done all my testing while forgetting about the Trash folder when deleting the posts.

So if I need a post to stay removed that would seem to mean I'll need to leave it in the Trash until it drops off the feed. I'm remembering times when I removed a feed post only to have it re-appear...now I know why!

    Thanks, David
