Autoresponder E-mail From name:
change WordPress to whatever you want.
Mike,
I’ve tried this instruction because I’m having the same problem. The only place I can find “E-mail From” on the settings page is where it says “Custom E-mail From”, and I’ve tried changing that and it still comes in WordPress. It’s not the autoresponder I’m trying to change, it’s the email that comes to my client from the form. Am I missing something?
Thanks!
Mike,
I figured it out. What I was trying to change is what goes in the “Name” field on the form. If they don’t put any name in at all it defaults to “WordPress”. Can we change that default to something else or do I need to require a name?
Thanks!
Dr Wippit, yes I suggest requiring a name because otherwise it will be from “wordpress”. Requiring a name is the optimal solution.
This issue had me stumped for a little while because I had turned off all the standard fields and had configured my own name field (called ‘Your name’) as an extra field. I didn’t realise that for the form-filler’s name (as opposed to the text ‘WordPress’) to display in the site owner’s From: column in their email client, we had to make use of the plugin’s standard Name field. But that’s not a problem. I just noticed that the standard form fields and labels can be styled with classes in the Style section, matching up with any classes entered in the extra fields, so all is good.
By the way, superb plugin Mike.
