[resolved] Add attribute to website link of author? (19 posts)

    Hi! The plugin works great. There is one thing that I would like to know, though.

    Can I add nofollow or rel attribute to the link on Author's name. Usually on clicking on Author google plus icon it points to the Author's google plus profile her had placed in settings. I want to add rel attribute to it so that I can intigrate it with Google Authorship.

    Any suggestions?

    chetanbhasin777,

    I just submitted new plugin version that covers this. So, next time you update, Google+ icon link will have ?rel=author added at the end.

    So, does the plugin link the website with my Google profile automatically, or do I need to enter the rel="author" somewhere or include it in the Google+ link?

    thanks, Jim

    Jim,

    The rel=author has been included. You just need to enter your Google+ ID and that's it.

    The only other thing you need to do is connect your Google+ account to your website, but you do that from within Google+ dashboard.

    Cheers

    Dragan,

    This plugin is fantastic. I love being able to adjust the colors without coding.

    One more question...

    Is there a way to have the author box appear on all posts but only some pages?

    I have some pages at my blog that serve only as navigation like this one... http://www.buildyourownbow.com/products/

    Maybe I can disable the author box on pages and use a shortcode to put in on the pages that I want it to appear?

    Thanks, Jim

    Hi Jim,

    That is a way to do it if you want it shown on certain pages only.

    Unfortunately, shortcode option is reserved for the premium version called Fanciest Author Box.

    Sorry if this limitation affects your project.

    Hey Dragan,

    That sounds good. I am perfectly willing to purchase the plugin if that will help.

    I'm also seeing on my theme that there is a bullet character showing up next to the tabs. Do you have an idea how to remove the bullets? Will that happen on the Fanciest plugin as well?

    Here is a link again to my site... http://www.buildyourownbow.com/about/

    Thanks, Jim

    Jim,

    The bullet character is added by your theme to list elements.

    Here's the CSS that's been doing that.

    .art-post ul > li {
    background-image: url('images/postbullets.png');

    Our developer will give you instructions on how to disable it from appearing in Author Box if you'd like.

    .ts-fab-list > li { background-image: none !important; }

    Jim, this should take care of the bullets.

    Slobodan Manic,

    I dropped that code into the bottom of my style.css file but it didn't change anything.

    Should I put the code somewhere else?

    Thanks, Jim

    No, that's where it should go actually.

    Could you quickly activate the plugin so I can check it out in your site?

    OK...the plugin is activated and the code is at the bottom of the style.css file.

    Ah, I see what it is, when you copied the text from here, it got copied as this:

    .ts-fab-list > li { background-image: none !important; }

    And it should be:

    .ts-fab-list > li { background-image: none !important; }

    If you just replace that in style.css, it should be good.

    Yep...that fixed it.
    Wow, I don't see the difference but the new code worked.
    Thanks so much.

    How can I email you directly with a question?

    Hey guys,

    I purchased the Fanciest Author Box plugin and installed it, but it has two issues:

    1. It won't automatically appear on posts or pages, but it will appear when using the [ts_fab] short code.

    2. There is no information or link in the content area of the Facebook tab.

    Please help.

    Thanks, Jim

    Jim,

    We just completed a major update today and it should be available for download by the end of the week.

    Could you email us (contact@thematosoup.com), so we can continue communication that way, don't want to use wordpress.org support forum for premium plugin support.
