[resolved] Performance hugely degraded (5 posts)

Activating the plugin renders the site almost unusable alas. Hangs for long periods of time, both in page loading and accessing the panel/dashboard. Only other active plugins are Google Analytics and Multicons (for Favicon), which are both up to date.

Deactivating returns the site (www.kentsportsnews.com) to normal performance.

I had exactly the same problem as you, I found the solution from this topic

Basically, it needs cURL installing on the server that it's hosted on, for mine all I needed was:

    sudo apt-get install php5-curl

Then restart your web server and it should work for you.

    agree to Jason:

the loading of site as well as dashboard is absolutely unacceptable.
In this time I can also manually post my posts to FB :-(

I have no influence on the server where my site is hosted, cURL is installed/enabled by the way.

@ThreadTheWeb Awesome, many thanks. At this stage it looks like you've solved this problem for me. Kudos.

Yes, currently there seems to be an issue with servers that are lacking curl. We're working on it.

If you install the "Core Control" plugin, then one of the options it has is to display information about the HTTP Transports available on your system. You can use this to see if the Curl transport is the one being used. This is just to help you diagnose the problem and see if that is the issue, Core Control cannot be used to solve the problem.
