[Plugin: Facebook Comments for WordPress] Get Comments Number Not Working

I want to display the number of comments on the main page with the excerpt. When I include “get_comments_number”, it always comes back as zero. I’m not sure what I’ve got to do to get this to retrieve the actual number. I’ve looked around at others posting about the same problem, but nothing that they’ve posted has gone into much detail about what they had to do to fix it.

Do I need to place a certain block of code in my Functions or Comments file? I’m ONLY using the Facebook comments plugin, not the WP comments. Not sure if that will affect the possible answer.

Also, a small side note – I know that friends have “Liked” the post I’ve linked above, but only my picture & name show up. Is there something else I need to do here to get this to work properly?
