   Is it possible to include an external video in a post's gallery? I can handle anything beyond getting it into the gallery, i.e. displaying it correctly on the attachment page, but getting it into the gallery doesn't seem possible.

   Use shortcode [external-videos] to embed a gallery of videos into a page or post. It's a separate type of gallery to images.
