• I just wanted to know if there is anyway to add a URL option to the submit event form?

I have had a few clients are me for somewhere they can add there webpage so people can click on it for more information about there event.

I have been editing each listing myself and adding each URL but it would be great to have a option in the submit form.

    Can anyone help?

  • you can use custom attributes at Settings > General > General Options > Enable event attributes? then add the attributes at Settings > General > General Options > Event Attributes

Thanks for getting back to me agelonwl

Sorry can you help a little more.

After I go to Settings > General > General Options > Enable event attributes? then add the attributes at Settings > General > General Options > Event Attributes

Do I have to put #_EVENTURL in the box Settings > General > General Options > Event Attributes

I tried doing that but still I can not see anywhere to add a event URL on the submit form

    please see this image http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=10roh07&s=6

    Is this what you want?

Yes that is what I would like. I am not sure why this is not part of the default submit form.

Are you able to talk me through getting this setup please.

actually, that’s a default setup. Maybe you can try to deactivate other plugins or revert to default twentyeleven theme to see if its a plugin or theme conflict. also, (if possible) you can reset em at settings > general > admin tools then click reset and try to follow my shared image

I have added all the code in your photo into the right box’s and I have been able to get the URL box added to the submit form and I have also be able to get the For more info show up on the event listing but the only problem is that when I enter the URL into the field on the submit form and click submit event the URL is not saving for some reason.

I will also try to reset the plugin and reload it to see if I can get it working

Thanks for all your help so far.

Ok so I got it working but only if I add a new event. If I try to edit a event and try to input a URL it will not work.

Is there anyway to change where the URL field is displayed on the submit form? I would like to move it to the top under event name and not down the bottom beside Category

Thanks so much for your help.

yes, please see the template file at templates/forms/event-editor.php then move the code snippet around line 133 to 158 somewhere you like.
