   Just read the whole 'getting error in widget' convo and it looks like this *may* be related, although no one presented the same problem.
   This is a clean install onto 2.7.1, adding any kind of event you get the error:
   [Unknown column 'event_id' in 'field list']

   Any help appreciated!

   Uninstall it, delete all tables related to it and download and install from here:

   http://davidebenini.it/wordpress-plugins/events-manager/

   That did the trick for me :-)
