Three ways to improve the clarity of the settings:

    1. I suggest moving everything that relates to event submissions only from General Options to Event Submission Forms.
    2. Rewrite the name and the helper text of this setting:

Are current events past events? Yes No
By default, events that are have an end date later than today will be included in searches, set this to yes to consider events that started ‘yesterday’ as past.

      For example like this:

Show ongoing events among upcoming events? Yes No
If set to Yes, multi-day events that have started before today and end today or later will be displayed when viewing the events of any date when the event is going on. If set to No, multi-day events are shown only when viewing the events of the date when they start.

    3. On Formats/Layouts > Events Format > Events Page, there are two settings with the name “Events page grouping”. The latter one of these should be renamed as “Events page grouping format”. The first one has an incomplete helper text “If you choose a group by mode, your events page will ” that should be completed or rewritten for example like this: “You can choose to have your events list display events in groups based on year, month, week or date.”
