   Hi! If I set the Events page as the homepage, the pagination won't work. I get 404 error. Please help!

   what happens to your pagination so it doesn't work? do you have a link?

   Based on your link, the pagination is not working because it changes the url from http://placeslokaal.nl/?page=2 to http://placeslokaal.nl/2/ upon clicking. Can you try to resave your permalinks or deactivate other plugin and even revert back to default theme to see if there's any conflict (temporarily).

   another plugin must be doing this, redirecting your pages to 'pretty permalinks'
