Location Notes/Description and line breaks (5 posts)

I noticed an odd behaviour when rendering/displaying location details.
The description text using visual editor usually enters line breaks (or para breaks) when using enter after a sentence.

    If I enter text like:

    Line 1 sdflksdjfglkjkldf
    Line 2 sdflksdjfglkjkldf

    Line 3 sdflksdjfglkjkldf
    Line 4 sdflksdjfglkjkldf

All comes together like this on the page:

Line 1 sdflksdjfglkjkldf Line 2 sdflksdjfglkjkldf Line 3 sdflksdjfglkjkldf Line 4 sdflksdjfglkjkldf

I tried <br /> and even <p>&nbsp;</p> whoch worked....for a while until I was adding a few line breaks more in the para before! Gone it was!

Posts and apages are fine and as expected.

    Thanks for having a look

please try to use HTML editor rather than visual editor.

    use this e.g.

    Line 1 break<br/>
    Line 2 break

I just tried it and it works.

Why rather the HTML editor ? That's quite cumbersome to use HTML, especially for other people who might have no clue.

Any reason, why the Visual editor not works here while fine for events and posts/pages ?
I see the point for a workaround, but my point is, that visal editor should behave as expected.

    thanks

I've noticed that WordPress's br handling is very screwy, completely aside from plugin issues. They appear and disappear without warning, even when you're trying to control things by staying in the HTML editor.

    Apparently a long standing issue

v5 is nigh, and you can definitely blame wp for that if it still happens :)
