   Is there any way to change the zoom level of the map? Currently the map display zoomed in at street level. I'd like to zoom out to about city level.

   you'd have to do a little adjustment to your javascript. Please see this link http://wp-events-plugin.com/tutorials/modifying-event-location-google-maps/ and http://code.google.com/apis/maps/documentation/javascript/reference.html#MapOptions
