[resolved] Google maps finds location but EM says location not found (5 posts)

I've launched my updated site with EM (will post a link soon) and I've hit what I think is my first major bug because I can't see a way around it.

I'm posting a recurring event in a rural area in Australia. Google maps finds the street & town but EM says location not found. The address is spelled the exact same way. But still not found by EM. I guess it's more a google maps api question/bug?

I tried to enter just the town and EM found the town. But the street is required by EM, not just the town, and I cannot post the event.

So as a work-around, could you please point me to the file where I can make the street field of the location NOT required?* So people can enter street & town OR just town & no street?

    Thank you.

    * But events still require a location - so I can't use the "Require locations for events" yes/no option in events-manager-options.

Can I know the complete address? for testing purposes.

    Sure:

    http://maps.google.com.au/maps?q=No+6+Branch+Road+south+johnstone&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-a&hnear=No+6+Branch+Rd,+South+Johnstone+Queensland+4859&gl=au&t=m&z=16

The Street name is "No 6 Branch Road" (number six).
That is the whole name, not "Branch Road", but "No 6 Branch Road".

It's probably called that because it leads to a place called "No 6 Branch".

If I put "No 6 Branch" into the town field and leave the street field empty it finds "No 6 Branch". But EM doesn't like "No 6 Branch Road" in the street field.

    This one works for me:

    Location name: any
    Address: No 6 Branch Road
    City/Town: South Johnstone
    State/County: QLD
    Country: Australia

    Hi agelonwl,

Yes the location is found if I add the address to events > locations
    wp-admin/post-new.php?post_type=location

but the location is not found if I try add the address when adding an event
    /wp-admin/post-new.php?post_type=event

BUT! THAT'S OK!! I've got the address in there now and it comes up on the add event page as a pre-defined location.

    PHEW! THANK YOU!
