Events Manager
[resolved] Events page - Exclude Events (5 posts)

    Hi,

I have a small issue that I am trying to resolve in the Settings->Formatting->Events Page. Currently the format is the default with a few display modifications. The issue is that the website displays events organised by the website owner and events organised by different organisations. The events organised by others are in different categories and I want to exclude these from this list using the Settings page rather than a new shortcode script.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

You could acheieve this but you'd need to edit the templates/templates/events-list.php page.

You'd need to add a category ="-1,-2-3" to your search array, where each -x is the id of your categroy you want to exclude.

    Thanks Marcus.

I was hoping not to have to edit any php files as my php knowledge is quite (very) rusty.

I get the category="-x" bit, but the search array? How is that identified?

I am guessing here but something along the lines of

    $args['category'] = $_REQUEST['category="-x"']

    Or is that way off?

    Thanks

    Philip

you need to add something like this to the template file events-list.php

    $args['category'] = '1,2,3,4'
    or
    $args['category'] = $_REQUEST['x']

    to use templates - http://wp-events-plugin.com/documentation/using-template-files/

Thank you aglonwl for the syntax. The first one appears to work a treat but the second not. In any event I have the information to fine tune this.

    Thanks very much

    Philip
