Hi, could you check to see if it’s another theme or a plugin creating this conflict? You can leave the BP plugin installed and the default BP theme.
Hi Marcus
Thanks for responding. With all other plugins deactivated (Only BuddyPress, bbPress and Events Manager running) and the default BuddyPress theme in use I still get the same result. I can’t leave it like that though and have reactivated everything. You can have a look here: http://communicape.co.za/forums/
I have no idea what could cause this, and hope that you can make some suggestions.
Thanks,
Justin.
I’d check your setup further then, because 1/2 our test sites use BP/bbP and it works fine.
After hours of digging I have been unable to resolve this. I unfortunately cannot delay the site any longer and will have to find another solution. It is a real pity since this plugin is exactly what I need, but since it breaks the bbPress forums in BuddyPress, I will need to look elsewhere.
Hi,
Am about to try this issue however can you give more information on how to replicate this? Also, if you can provide a sample screenshots of bbpress and buddypress settings.
thx
Also, would like to know your settings at WP Settings > Forums > Archive Slugs > Forums base
and WP Settings > Forums > Single Slugs > Forum slug
because I was able to replicate the issue by modifying the slugs and fix them by putting forums
on the slugs.
I’ve got the same problem and have a few more details. The problem occurs for me when the bbpress slug is paired with a wordpress page with bbpress short codes on it. If I set the slug to a URL where there isn’t an actual page, both the page with just short codes, and the slug page work fine.
Obviously this isn’t an ideal solution as there are now two pages with the forum directory on them and I can only customise one of them.
@nickmackz or anyone else with this…
Does this happen only if EM is disabled (once deactivating the plugin, resave permalinks too)?
I tried what you described, still works for me.
It works fine with Events Manager disabled. As soon as I enable it, the forum page is just replaced with “Powered by Events Manager”.
I disabled EM, updated permalinks and it was working, activated it and it immediately isn’t working.
Note that I am using a Dev version of bbPress 2.1.
I wonder if this is a problem with the way that 2.1 auto-detects if your theme contains the bbpress theme files? I am using a child-theme that contains my custom theme for bbpress.
what about with your theme? did you check that?
haven’t tested dev bbp 2.1 yet
Doesn’t work on buddypress default theme, twenty eleven, or my normal theme Custom Community.
will check this out asap then.
