I got "Enable Google Maps integration" turned on and it displays a map but I am always getting the same location no matter what address i use in the selected country.

    The address tested is
    Shalika Grounds
    City:Colombo
    Country:Sri Lanka

This works fine in google maps. I can try different addreses aswell but they all show the one same location which seems to be taking on the city name.

    Hi,

Do you have a sample link? also, is this using a single events page or a location shortcode?

and the corresponding api data which obviously looks wrong

    Was checking the request/response

if location input isn't finding the right place, try the draggable marker when editing the location.

Marcus, thanks for replying, well the basic ideas is if you copy the same thing that works in google maps it should work here, but in this case and many other addresses I have tried, they all point to the same address in the screenshot, so there is and obvious bug here.

Your suggestion of moving the marker would definitely work if I was setting up the locations myself, but unfortunately this will be used by users who are not very computer literate who expect things to just work, and if I have to tell them to put the address then move a marker on the map to where the location is, that would sounds really ridiculous.

Beside given the above location marking it manually is quite a time consuming process.

Anyway hope this could be fixed atleast in the next version.

The maps work fine normally. There must be a JS error in your theme or another plugin that's preventing maps from working properly.

The draggable marker was geared towards users in areas where Maps doesn't auto-detect addresses properly, but if you e.g. change your country and town, it should point to the town (e.g. London, UK).

    Marcus,

Thank you for looking into this.

I was following the troubleshooting steps and disabled all plugins etc to see if that was causing the problem but it was the same result.

Also I just now created a fresh base install of 3.4 and added the plugin and tested and its the same result.

The reason I posted was coz the address works fine in google, and for addresses that it is slightly off I can move the marker, but this is just way off.

Thought someone else might have had this issue and a fix for it, but I'll try to work it out.

Thanks for your time Marcus, and great plugin.

3.4 has issues with 5.1.7 fyi, try 5.1.8, but it won't fix problems with finding addresses.

Make sure your address, town, state, etc. appears as one line (not including the name of the location, we don't use that for locating the address)
