    Hi, does anyone know why this does not work within the Default single event format.

    <?php if ( is_user_logged_in() ) { ?>
    Time - <i>#_12HSTARTTIME - #_12HENDTIME</i>
    <?php } else { ?> <i>Please login to see time </i>
    <?php } ?>

    You can also try that on the templates file @ http://wp-events-plugin.com/documentation/using-template-files/

    you need to run the placeholders through the event object, e.g. $EM_Event->output(array('format'=>'<i>#_12HSTARTTIME - #_12HENDTIME</i>');

    where are you editing exactly? if you're using PHP, you need to set up an $EM_Event object, either by getting the global $EM_Event or creating a new object like $EM_Event = new $EM_Event(id);
