   Could I have more than one instance of the calendar? Having a calendar for example for live events and another one for webinars?

   How could I do that?

   As of right now there is no way to have multiple calendars.

   You could use Kieran's Calendar plugin. It does not natively support more than one Calendar but I modified his plugin to support other Calendars and a few other things.

   Alternately, you could use http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/my-calendar/, which is a branch of Kieran's calendar and includes multiple calendars by category among other features.
