[Plugin: Event Registration] Upload to plugins - plugin is a no-show (29 posts)

I have downloaded both 1.2 and 1.2.1 - unzipped, uploaded the containing folder within my plugins directory - shift-refresh on the plugin page within wordpress and...

It doesn't exist. It is a no-show. I've gone through the read-me file and have tried a few different things such as uploading the containing folder within the folder, have tried putting the php files directly into the plugins directory and... nothing. Notta.

I have a few other plugins that work successfully so I do not <i>believe</b> that my install is the issue, but who knows.

Any insight as to why this might be happening?

I am having some issue with the posting to SVN. The plugin works fine on my test server but when I upload and then try the download it does not work. However if I create a new document and copy/paste the PHP code to the page and save as same name and upload to folder in plugins it works. Not sure why, but you might try that work around until I can resolve the SVN upload issue.

    Thanks.

Interesting - I'll give that a try tomorrow and let you know how that works.

I tried this and still am experiencing the exact same issue.

Have since tried a few other plugins to see if perhaps its the installation of my wordpress, but it picks up other plugins, just not this one.

OK, Please download version 2.0. I have verified that it downloads and installs and works without issues.

Currently it does not show as the active download, so you will have to go to the previous versions to download 2.0

    This version loads fine.
Unfortunately it has a conflict with my shopping cart. Hope you can fix as this is just what we need as a voluntary club that fund raises from small events.

    error message recieved:

I an unsure as to your issue and I do not use session_start() in my code. The original version may have but I removed the session variables early on.

The error is because of extra whitespace in the code I have several places where <?PHP and ?> occur. You can go through and take them all out but the first on on line 1 (make sure there are no spaces before <?PHP) and the closing?> (make sure there are no extra spaces after the final ?>.

I will correct this and upload a new version tomorrow.

I'm enjoying working with this plugin, and the author has been really responsive to any questions about it. Thanks a lot! I look forward to getting things going on my event website.

Well, it almost works perfectly. Thanks for a great plugin idea! But once a user fills out the form all they get is: "our Registration has been added. Please watch your email for a confirmation of registration."

I was expecting them to be taken over to paypal.
I have put the paypal id in the settings.

    David,

This is a very useful plugin and much to my surprise, there aren't too many (if any) similar plugins to rival yours. Great job!

I am using version 3.0 with WP 2.7.1. A few issues:

    1) Drop downs in the custom questions are not going to the db.
    2) how can I name one of the items in the drop downs to be the default item to show on page load?
    3) I am getting the 2 custom emails from wordpress ( I, person's name ....) have signed up...I'd like to delete this email. Only those who have successfully paid by paypal should get an email confirmation.
    4) All registrants are paying by paypal; how can I delete the choice of payment - the default will be paypal.

    Thanks, Marlon

mac4417 - Did you figure out the answer to number 4? I need to do the same thing.

For question 3, try this plugin: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/mail-from/

    Hi

Im having a recurring issue with this plugin. I've followed all instructions.

Whenever I update an existing event, the event is deleted from the database completely. I noticed that the page "refreshes" when I hit update, and sometimes takes me to the wrong location.

Can anyone shed light on this?

    Please help.

I'm receiving the following WordPress Error when I attempt to complete (Update)the Configuration Organization screen, immediately after installing the Event Registration (3.046) plug-in. Using WP 2.7.1.

WordPress database error: [Incorrect integer value: '' for column 'use_sandbox' at row 1]

    Thanks

Above problem caused by plug-in conflict (Resolved).

However, data is not being saved (when updated) for the Configuration Organization screen. No error messages when updating.

Error message: Return to the Admin screen to complete Configuration Organization, when triggering the {EVENTREG} page.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

rhunter100, what plugs caused the plugin-conflict?

I am getting a number of warnings using 2.7.1:

    kayhi:

Sorry, I can no longer recall which plug-in was the problem.

Deactivate all plug-ins and then activate Event Registration. If it works, deactivate and then slowly add one or two plug-ins at a time, then activating Event Registration, to see which one is causing the problem.

Thanks rhunter100. I deactivated all plugins except event registration and had the same warnings. I am probably just jumping the gun since the plug has yet to recommended for wordpress 2.7.1.

I have tested the plugin on 2.7.1 (both Windows and Apache) and have no functional issues.

Your errors appear to be related to database queries. It appears that the database names are not calling correct.

Email me offline and I will walk you through resolution.

I have turned to this forum for help with:

The data is not being saved (when updated) for the Configuration Organization screen. No error messages when updating.

Error message: Return to the Admin screen to complete Configuration Organization, when triggering the {EVENTREG} page.

realizing that the plug-in author occasionally checks it, and would hopefully respond to my request. I've done this since my emails to consultant@avdude.com are either consistently kicked-back or not responded to. The new website intended for support does not appear to offer the ability to make requests.

I'm not sure what to do from here!

Please tell me what version of the plugin you have installed. Also you can email me at buckfleming@comcast.net if you are having trouble at avdude.com

    Thanks.

This is by far the best plugin for events registration. Unfortunately, it clashes with global translator. I haven't the foggiest idea on how to troubleshoot this because when I activate the plugin and then go to my site, I get a white page with no content. There is nothing to troubleshoot!!
Unfortunately, I really need both plugins and haven't a clue where to look. Is it a javascript issue? Does this plugin use MOD REWRITE or something?
Any chance you could install global translator with this plugin and give me a few suggestions, Mr. AVDUDE?
Thanks again - look forward to using it. My client did actually give me some funds for donations so your efforts won't go unrewarded! ;)
( See http://tkdunion.org - currently, I'm just using global translator since that is the larger requirement )
