Event Organiser
[resolved] Events not showing in loop (6 posts)

I posted this in a resolved thread, so it may have been missed:

Since updating from 1.4.2 to 1.5.2, my events are no longer being output by the loop.

The code in my homepage is WP_Query(array('post_type'=>'event')), yet it outputs http://www.soulmastery.net/wordpress/ (assuming I haven't fixed this myself by using eo_get_events). There used to be two boxes under Upcoming Events.

The code in taxonomy-event-category.php is the default if (have_posts()) call, yet it outputs http://www.soulmastery.net/wordpress/events/category/upcoming-events/. But notice how the events do appear in the sidebar widget on that page. The sidebar widget uses eo_get_events(). Is it no longer possible to use the default WP queries? If so I may just revert to the older version of this plugin and stop updating.

Any ideas? We launch this site tomorrow! Thanks!

As another result, I can no longer easily create a list of all posts (including events) ordered by title for my sitemap.

    Hi nothin7

    I'm very sorry about this.

I think this may be related to a 'group occurrences' which I have a patch for ready. Can you confirm that you are grouping occurrences? Do events show if you don't group occurrences? If you uncheck group group occurrences, and check 'show past events' in the settings - do events show then?

(eo_get_events() and WP_Query are essentially the same, but will use different values for arguments depending on your settings - so there is nothing wrong with using WP_Query() but as mentioned there is a bug in 1.5-1.5.2

You nailed it. Unchecking group occurrences fixes the problem. Thanks for being so on top of it! I've rewritten the code for now, but do let me know when it's fixed if you can.

Awesome :). I'll release it later today - there are a few other bug reports that may/may-not be related. If I can get the patches in one update then that'll be perfect.
