[Plugin: Event Calendar 3] Separate archive list for “Events” category??

I was just wondering if it is possible to create an archive list in my sidebar (similar to the “Archive” widget that comes with WordPress) but have it specific to my Events category (from Events Calendar 3).

I found a plugin called “Archives for a category” (http://kwebble.com/blog/2007_08_15/archives_for_a_category) that essentially does what I need however, in my Event Calendar 3 settings, I have set it so that my “Events” are separate from my regular blog posts.

The issue that comes up is that when I try to create my archive list using the plugin, it thinks there are no “Events” posts because of my Event Calendar settings.

So to get back to my question, does anyone know how I can display a monthly archive list in my sidebar but have it specific to my Event category posts?
