   Previous versions worked but when 3.21 came it stopped working.

   There is no problems with the shortcodes and EG-Settings, can insert it in any post /page. Only that when you save or try to open the attached pdf it does not work.

   Tried all possibilities; small, medium, large, force saveas, etc. etc.

   to no avail.

   I proceeded with tests on WordPress 3.2.1/EG-Attachments 1.8.3 without problem.

   Tests proceeded with standard url format, and url rewriting, and with several type of documents including PDF files.

   You have the problem only with PDF file?

   If I install other(attachment-related)plug-ins, it works but with EG it doesn't.

   This happens(even if EG is) in Active or deactivated mode.

   Same as with other extensions.

   I upgraded to version 3.85, it only works in auto-code mode. If it is on manual, does'nt download the file, either in forced-save-as or not. I'm Lost at this point.

   I jsut downloaded this, thinking it was going to solve the issue I am having. Ill cross my fingers...

   @davincicook: I found the bug. The error occurs when the server option fopen_wrapper is set to off.
   I will publish a new version 1.8.6 very soon (perhaps this night - european time).
