[Plugin: Edit Flow] Edit flow stopped giving drop-down box for editors

    Hi,
    I have been using edit-flow for a few weeks with a custom status so that editors can save posts as ‘Ready for publication’. Now the drop down box has disappeared from the editing page and there is no choice. I am only able to reinstate it by giving editors ‘Publish Post’ capabilities using the user role editor, which means they can also publish which I do not want.

    Why would this suddenly have happened? How can I get the drop down box back for editors without giving them publishing capabilities?

    Did you install another plugin recently that might’ve caused this change? What plugins do you have installed currently, and what version of WordPress are you using?

    Wow that was quick!

    I’m using 3.2.1, although since last looking and just checking I am getting ‘update now’ messages to 3.3.

    I have lots of plugins running on the site. Is there somewhere in wordpress I can look to see what has been turned on recently?

    I did wonder if it was Future posts, but I disabled that and it still didn’t work. The only new plugin on the posts page is Wordtwit. I can try disabling that if you think it might be it.

    Can you try disabling all plugins except Edit Flow and see if the problem persists? If it doesn’t, you can reenable the plugins one by one and see which causes the problem.

    Because we haven’t pushed any updates to Edit Flow recently, I suspect the cause of the problem is another variable at play.

    Hi,

    If I disable a plugin and then re-enable it does it come back with all the same settings or will everything be forgotten?

    I’d just like to know that before I turn them off, incase I make even more problems to sort out.

    Yes, it should come back with the same settings if the settings are stored properly in the database.
