We have installed Edit Flow on Multiple Blogs and have found the new posts are not saving when being saved by a contributor or a user using a mobile device.
Are you using the custom statuses feature, and are the users using WordPress for iOS? Custom statuses probably won’t work reliably in the mobile app, as the feature isn’t fully fleshed out in core.
Hi Daniel,
We have gone out to all our contributors and it does not seem to be an issue with using iOS, as the same problem is happening with users on a PC.
This seems to only be an issue with users with the contributor role. Editors dont have this problem.
The other issue is that it happens only sometimes, so not sure of the exact cause of the error
Some more info on the problem:
When the contributor saves the initial post, the draft actually saves, the
notification box appears at the top of the page saying draft updated, with
a preview link, but if the preview link is clicked nothing loads. Then if
the contributor returns to the posts list, it isn’t listed.
The articles do definitely upload – as the item count on the
“All” posts tab goes up, even though the post isn’t listed on the tab. So
they are uploading but then they are hidden somewhere.
Oh, it sounds like they’re saving to the “Draft” status and it probably doesn’t exist anymore. Did you delete it from the custom statuses listing?
The ‘draft’ status is definitely still there, however I may have deleted it and put it back initial during setup.
Possibly it lost its connection to the status. Although the default status in our setup is ‘pending review’
Do you have any other tags or categories named “Draft”? I suspect you may have a similar problem to this thread.
Also, to confirm, you’ve disabled all other plugins while testing this, and the problem persists?
