Hi Tim, the plugin looks promising but I have not had success uploading (zip/oam) file into the manage area?

Each time I get the 'Unable to parse stage name from main edge file' error message.

I am using the lateest Edge Animate and the latest WP.

Have you seen this error message and how to correct it?

    Darrell

I should add at the top of the page, after an unsuccessful upload, I get the following

Warning: file_get_contents(/xxxxxxx/wp-content/uploads/edge_suite/edge_tmp/src_1349479483/Assets/scrollTopInDiv_edge.js) [function.file-get-contents]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /xxxxxxx/wp-content/plugins/edge-suite/includes/edge-suite-comp-builder.inc on line 403

I xxxx-out the direct path for security.
    Assistaance appreciated.

    Hi Darnell,
thanks for your feedback. PHP doesn't seem to be able to read in the content of your main edge.js file, which ist really strange.
I guess the script crashes completely, so auto cleanup won't delete the tmp extracted files. Can you check what permissions are set on /xxxxxxx/wp-content/uploads/edge_suite/edge_tmp/src_1349479483/Assets/scrollTopInDiv_edge.js. Did you set uploads/edge_suite dir to 777? Looks like read permission is not set for the file, although that's really strange as the file must be written by php, which means php is the owner and should definitely be able to read it. Another option might be that there is a problem with file_gets_content on your server, but that's also very unlikely. What hoster are you on?

I am on Hostgator /unix box

I set the permissions as instructed 777 on the requested folder. I can see that the file gets uploaded (either zip or aom) into the /temp folder.

But the above noted error persists on Wp side.

This is really really strange, can't wrap my head around what might be happening. Can you check what permissions are set on the specific file that fails to be read? From that I might be able to tell what goes wrong. Only thing I can think of is that write is allowed but not read? e.g. 330? Would be really wired, but strange things happen on some servers. But that way we could at least tell. Do you get the red warning box on the Edge Suite manage page? Just for me to know if your PHP process runs within a different user then your FTP.

Maybe you can test this on another WP installation? That would also narrow it down a bit.

    Hi,
I think I figured out what went wrong. Changing file permissions after extraction doesn't always seem to work, so default server file permissions are used which in some cases are a bit strange I guess. I have tried to fix this in the svn trunk version. It would be great if you could test this version. Just delete the plugin files on the server and use the one from the zip:

Hope this will fix it. Thanks for testing.

    Yayyy - Thanks Tim

    This now works.

Uploads without any 'red box' warnings, but get the friendly 'yellow' box notifications.

    Sweet

Though one thing I do notice, within the notifications, the following line

"Auto detection of stage dimensions failed: Unable to spot stage variable."

It does not appear to affect the upload and not 100% certain on what it means, but is it possbile that your script carries over an older reference to the 'stage'. In earlier Previews of Edge the stage reference was lower case 'stage'; in the final release (v1) it is now upper case 'Stage'. Just a thought and may help with the above message.

    Hi Darrell,
awesome, that's great news. Thanks for testing it again. Am glad that bug got fixed as lot of people seemed to run into it.

Right now both 'stage' versions are covered. The message means the plugin had problems reading the width and hight from the compressed format. Would you mind sending me your _edge.js file to edge@timm-jansen.de so I can check what goes wrong.

The width and height are being set in wordpress for the stage div. Otherwise the div will have height 0 while loading up and then, when its loaded, will pop open.

I'm marking this as resolved as the original issue seems to be fixed. Please open up a new issue if the parsing of stage dimensions still doesn't work.
