Hi, thanks for the stuff, way easier to debug this way 😉 I totally forgot to consider that Edge Suite doesn’t support minified versions of compositions (yet!). In preview 6 it all worked, but in 0.7 it now gets even more compressed and I would have to do all hell lot of parsing to adjust path prefixes. I’ll contact the Edge team to check what the plan is. So for now please don’t “publish” in Edge to build the archive. Just use the plain folder and zip it (deleting the published folder before).
The messages your are getting are all ok, no problems there, uploading seems to work nicely. But I couldn’t find the stage container on the “Test Edge Page”. Did you insert the edge section? One other thing is the carousel. You might want to test Edge own its own first as the JS might clash somehow.

It’s Alive!!!! The edge section is the only one on the page and had to compress all the files without a folder (except for the edge_includes folder), just the way edge saves it.

Thanks for your help. If thats the only way it works you might want to include those new saving instructions in with the regular plugin or every one will still have trouble.

I’ll let you know if I run into any thing else.

I don’t know if this helps you but when I tried to save all the files within a folder I created and then compress, this is the message I got:

The fide edge box.zip has been uploaded.
Errors occurred while creating the uploaded project. The import was most likely corrupted.
Aborting, no file found that matches the main edge JS filename pattern. This is not a valid composition archive.

Don’t know if that helps. If you want to test something else let me know.
    Thanks for your help.

    Hi,
I’m not sure I get it. The animation on the page works now or not? I can at least see a moving box there, no images though. I don’t think it really matters how you zip it. In general I just right click the folder and zip it. That means that you have one “container” folder with all the files in it plus the image and edge_include folders. It should even work without the container folder, not sure, would have to test it.
I just opened and resaved the box example you sent yesterday, zipped it, uploaded it to wordpress. It shows up as expected in pagelines. Do you want me to sent you the zipped file?

Yes, it works now, I just created a new test file that is just the box moving from left to right and changing color.”It’s alive” refers to the movie Frankenstein. That’s what the scientist yells when the monster finally comes to life. When I save from Edge I get several files and one folder, not just one folder.

    box_edgeActions.js
    box_edgePreload.js
    box.edge
    box.html
    box_edge.js
    edge_includes folder

When I publish it from edge then I get one folder.

Looking at this page on my iphone however, the canvas extends beyond the frame of the website. It works fine on my ipad. So does that mean that my Edge stage is a fixed size and pagelines is built to be variable? How do I get the animation to adjust regardless of device it is viewed on? Is that done in Edge? Still learning the program.

    Hi,
glad to hear it works now. I’ll check the publish output again.
I guess you need to make overflow hidden and apply flexible layouts (new in preview 7). There is a video tutorial, in case you are interested, it even explains how to do adaptiv layouts with EdgeCommons that we are working on. Here is the video:

    Hi,

I was just about to contact you to tell you that the plugin was working fine with the newly released Adobe Edge 1.0 but then I noticed a couple of things.
    1. Sometimes type generated in Edge does not end up in the same place once it gets to wordpress.

    2. It seems after 4 tests with different files that graphics imported into Edge are not showing up in the wordpress page.

Have you experiencing the same thing?

    Hi,
sorry, I’m a bit slow today:
    1) What do you mean by “type generated by Edge”?
    2) Do you have an example composition so I can check?

But in general the current release is not fully compatible with Edge Animate 1.0 yet. I’ll try to fix that asap, latest end of the weekend. Maybe that will already solve the problems you are having.

But in general the file upload works now?

    Hi,
I just pushed updates for version 0.3. Could you please test how your compositions work with the new version? OAM and minified files are now supported, would be great if you could use oam files when testing your compositions. They get generated when publishing with option “Animate Deployment Package”.

    Thanks

    Hey,

Sorry it took so long, wanted to know the program a little better. Still learning the whole adjustable layout thing. This was the type problem. Everything seems to be working fine now. It was late when I was trying to do it before. I just didn’t include the images folder in the archive. When I try to publish using the OAM setting. I get no result. Nothing shows up on the page. I will keep trying.

Also, when I test the animation on my iphone it break completely out of the frame making it unusable. Any ideas?

    Hi,
did you use the latest version, 0.3 to test OAM files? Any error messages?

Guess the iPhone thing is a different topic. Does the normal “non-wp” version work on iphone? Would guess its a flexible layout thing? Haven’t tested edge on phones too much yet, but it should work with flexibel layout as this especially acts on widow width.

Check your link on the edgedocks page that’s linked from your wordpress page. it’s listed as: http://http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/edge-suite/
Can’t find server. too many http:// in link.
What’s the advantage of publishing with OAM, finally got things working.
Also under install plugins Edge Suite isn’t listed as installed. WordPress is also not prompting me to update. Is this because I am using Pagelines?

Still trying to get this mobile phone thing to work correctly. This is kind of a deal breaker.
If it doesn’t work on mobile phones, clients will not want to go through the pain of switching sites from their current flash platform to edge. Then edge goes on the shelf and collects dust. And if it doesn’t work with wordpress ( a platform we can explain and eventually have a company’s internal support take over) then it also is not viable.
Just to describe it better. If you are looking at the iphone screen. Usually the website will take up the entire screen width. However when a adobe edge document is placed on the page only 1/3 of the screen width is the page of the site with the adobe edge section extending out past the page and extending the background. This same thing happens whenever I try to use 3rd party plugins like the ken burns slider from code canyon for example. It happens with other 3rd party plugins as well. Any ideas?

    Hi,
can’t find the broken link you are talking about.

Edge animate works with smaller screens, as I mentioned with flexibel layouts. Did you test your flexible layout animation animation without wordpress on your phone? We got this to work without that many problems. If you want to I can check and dig out my files somewhere.

So in general I’m not sure this is a wordpress or Edge Suite issue, maybe you want to post an issue over it the edge animate forum.

    Thread Starter innature12

    (@innature12)

This is the page with the broken link:
    http://edgedocks.com/content/edge-suite-integrate-edge-animate-wordpress
Under Edge Suite Installation. In Edge Suite – Integrate Edge Animate into wordpress – section. The link “Edge Suite plugin site”

I have gone over several flexible layout tutorials and set the stage to % instead of pixels and set a minimum and maximum but it still looks the same. It’s not just Edge though. It seems to be a pagelines thing. When I load other sliders onto pages other than the ones I get from the Pagelines store they break out of the page. Pagelines Features crops and centers any text on the page. I really want to make this work with pagelines and wordpress. These are platforms existing clients already understand and use. Going back to Dreamweaver now is no good.

I have a meeting be back in an hour and I will test OAM on a site that is not a clients site to get some of the answers you were looking for.

    (@innature12)

I got OAM to work but I will provide a link to the test page:
    http://www.imagi-nature.com/58-2/
It completely ignores the any of the Pagelines Framework.
Also the background should have been black
