How do you expect support with no English? (15 posts)

You have a few words in English but at WordPress, all English. If this is for both Dutch and English, then have those languages on your site.

Yep, thats a big problem; we're working on creating a new plugin page which also goes a bit more into the details of creating Easy WP plugins... unfortunately time is the big problem... the best I can tell you is; "we get to it when we get to it"

Your site is a hybrid of mixed languages. The English is titles and some promotion text, that's it. The plugin itself if very very simple, which looks like at this stage is fairly useless.

The admin area is empty with no options.

The admin area only shows the pages you've got. It's meant for pages.

The plugin is very basic and very simple; that's the way it was designed: so you just have a row of the pages in you admin area, so your clients can't screw up settings and other stuff.

It's meant for smaller sites; 5 to 8 pages, no posts...

And yeah; the plugin website (again) needs work... but again, the answer is "we get to it when we get to it"

The basis of this plugin is good and needed however at this stage of development, it is too limiting.

The plugin is for an 8 page site? Who has an 8 page or under website? Even a hobbyist website will be greater than 8 pages. How does your client (which this plugin targets) overlook managing post or blogs?

If a script on the WordPress site helps to market the work of a coder, than this plugin possibly may devalues your work. The plugin is generally useless. I would never set this up for any of my clients. Market plugins or WordPress widgets which have use and makes business sense for the WordPress developer/visitor. This particular plugin's feature which you call a benefit, is so limiting, that it is actually a liability. Who wants to be strapped to just a few pages?

I would think installing this plugin is a waste of time for most. To call it a CMS for WordPress at this point of development is quite astonishing. This idea is good and could be developed to enhance to liberty of a non coder.

In closing, I do support the idea of making the admin area much simpler for the website developer's client and look forward to the next versions. If you would like any assistance or feedback, I am willing to help.

    Kind regards,

    Caps

    Hi there

I have managed to use easy wp as a basis for a bespoke admin theme - I have it running on several sites and expanded it to include nextgen gallery, trackmystats, various facebook and twitter plugins as well as re-implementing posts under the guise of 'news articles'

Its taken a lot of work but so far iv modified it to respond when certain plugins are activated, so that if i need to use it on a site without news, or without a gallery, i can just use this as it will act as normal, only showing the relevent icons to the user if the plugin is active.

I have uploaded some screens of what iv created so far if anyone is curious what can be done

"You have a few words in English but at WordPress, all English. "

WordPress can be used by anyone anywhere on the planet.

There is no requirement that plugins must be in English and plugins and translations are always welcome.

    Hi Mark,

There are no requirements to language however, having the titles and intro in one language, then the content in another is misleading and frustrating.

Please go back and read my statement, you have selected not include the body or the principal thought behind my statement.

    Hey Danny,
Would be great if you share your modifications, and better if you teach me how to modify this plugin myself.
Its the best dashboard /simple plugin out there!

    Hi Insomnio,

A simple plugin 'creation description' can be found in the document entitled 'Easy wp plugins.txt' in the plugins' folder.

    It's also on github:
    https://github.com/towonder/Easy-WP/blob/master/easy%20wp%20plugins.txt

Basically: you create a posttype, add some options and you've got yourself an Easy WP enabled plugin. You can use any of the WordPress functions and additions. So if you've written WordPress plugins before, it's quite easy. Else i'd recommend you to start in the WordPress codex:

    @ Insomnio

Iv been rewriting this plugin in my downtime in a way which allows the admin to setup the users dashboard however they see fit, all from a handy options page. You can control styles, background, icons etc, as well as add and remove custom plugin pages too :D

rather than write a tut, ill direct you to my version when its a little more complete

    Hi Danny,
if your fork is something reliable and useful, isn't a problem to pay a reasonable fee.
Please keep me informed (macitaly at gmail.com) about progress.
    Thanks in advance
