   Using the shortcode [nivo source="current-post" ] the slider only shows 10 of the 25 images that are attached to my post...

   Why is that?

   OK, found it:

   You need to add an extra parameter 'number' to the shortcode like this

   [nivo source="current-post" number="all"]

   This option is not available in the shortcode insert dialog for attached images :(
