    Hi,

Searching for a replacement for lightbox I found this plug-in. It fulfills my needs, looks just great and the support seems to be alive and kicking. What a relieve after all the abandonware I tried and removed again!

I do have one problem though, but it is more than likely just my misunderstanding causing this.

I would like to have a "viewport" to a Youtube video on my site, where one sees the familiar youtube thumbnail and where the video actually is played in FancyBox when the thumbnail is clicked.

The following piece of code gives me the youtube thumbnail, but the video is not played in FancyBox.
Please tell me where I goof up here....
For completeness sake, in the media settings I have iframes checked.

    <iframe class="fancybox-iframe" width="560" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Q7b-4W_A01g" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

    Thanks for enlightening me,

    Regards,

    Herman.

Hi, you are using the Youtube iframe EMBED code, which will result in an embedded youtube movie on the web page. But that is not what you are looking for, is it?

FancyBox works only with links so to make the movie show up in an overlay, you need to use the SHARE URL and create a LINK with that in your post/page content. You are completely free to use any image (or screenshot from the movie) as a thumbnail or use just plain text... as long as you link it to the youtube movie with the share url.

The Easy FancyBox plugin will then (if you have auto-detection for Youtube urls enabled) take care of the rest :)

    Thanks for responding.
It seems I have forgotten a lot about HTML coding these days, it took a while before I finally understood what is happening here.
These are my senior moments I guess :)
No problem, I have got everything up and going now.

Thank you for your patience, for helping me out,

    Best regards,
    Met vriendelijke groet,

    Herman.
