Easy FancyBox
[resolved] How to position Video Post After Image Gallery (6 posts)

Hi, I'm wondering how to post a video so it is placed after an image gallery.

I created an image gallery using "upload/insert" images. Then in Custom Fields I entered key name "multimedia" and in Value Field placed the Vimeo embed code. (This is how the Widescreen theme instructions from Graph Paper Press specified to embed a video). Doing this results in the video being displayed at the top of the entire post with the image gallery below it. I'd like the video to come after the image gallery. Could you please give me some direction/instruction on how to do this?

    Thank you in advance.

I'm not really getting what you want. It sounds like you want to display the video itself below the image gallery thumbnails that you have in your post... correct? And I suppose you use the WP shortcode [gallery] for that gallery? In that case, you do not need FancyBox at all. Just place the URL to the Vimeo page below that shortcode with out making it an acual link. So just the http://vimeo.com/etc. right in there. Then WP will recognize it and place the video from that page inside your content.

But if you are saying you would like to make the video come as the last gallery item in the FancyBox overlay then you need to use the shortcode [gallery link="file"] and take that same Vimeo page URL and make it into a link and give it a rel="gallery" tag. That way, the video will not be show inside your page content but you will see the link to it on your page and clicking it will open the video in a lightbox overlay. But also clicking any of the gallery thumbnail images and then browsing through the gallery will at the end show you the video...

Hope you can work with this info ;)

    Hi RavanH,

Thank you for your quick response. Yes, the first answer you provided is what I am looking for (and thank you for the second way as well-I may use that somehwere else). I tried this and it does indeed place the Vimeo video below the image gallery thumbnails.

The only thing is that the Vimeo embed code allows for the removal of certain aspects like title, poster's name, borders, etc. This is the Vimeo embed code I am speaking of:
    <iframe src="http://player.vimeo.com/video/17317109?title=0&byline=0&portrait=0" width="800" height="600" frameborder="0"></iframe>

Is there a way to have the video displayed in this manner while still having the video placed below the image gallery thumbnails?

    Thank you in advance!

By the way, your plug-in is fantastic!

    Hi RavanH,

I was able to resolve the issue above by using a plugin that allows me to specify the Vimeo embed code within an iframe command that I can place inside the WP post field under the WP shortcode [gallery] (or anywhere else on the page).

Again, thank you for your help and for your fantastic plugin!

Well... even though this has nothing to do with FancyBox... thanks for sharing ;)

Just thought I'd post how I resolved this in case anyone comes later looking for a similar solution.

Easy FancyBox is a great plugin and I appreciate your help.

    Thanks RavanH.
