Fancybox Size Settings Not Working (4 posts)

Hi, I just installed Fancybox and it is working just fine, except for the window size settings in the Media Settings. I've enabled Fancybox for 'Images & Inline Content' and no matter what values I put into Window size for width, height, and border, nothing changes. The window stays the same size when I load it in the browser.

I've also tried to over-ride the default settings by entering the sizes into the < a > tag, like it says in the FAQ, but that made no difference either.

Everything else seems to work, as I can change colors from the Media Settings, but just not the size.

Also, how do I add padding to the text content? It literally touches the borders of the box.

The main FancyBox script does this for images. It will always adapt it's size to the image inside it while respecting the limit of the browser viewport... This is baked into the script and out of the scope of my plugin to prevent that behaviour.

If you need all images to render at the same size in FancyBox, you'll have to resize them yourself before uploading/inserting. But there might be a (hidden) solution ready for you: When uploading images in WordPress, there are automatically different sized versions of the original created: thumbnail, medium, large and the original size. When inserting a thumbnail you normally link it to the original size version which then gets opened in FancyBox. But if you link each thumnail to its large or medium size version counterpart, you immediately have somewhat standardized sizes at hand.

You'll just have to figure out the adapted URL for these different sized versions. Usually something like "/originalimagename-300x400.jpg" but it might differ for different dimension ratios of the original size.

Hope that's not too confusing but that's the best way I can explain it ;)

Hi Ravan, thank you so much for responding. However, I'm not using images, but rather text only. I can't change the size of the box, and there is no padding surrounding the text - it pushes right up against the edges of the box. Any ideas?
