[resolved] php File Names (4 posts)

By digging through the forums here and on the plugin site as well as playing with one of your supplied themes, I've figured out 3 of the template names for customizing things. Is there a list somewhere that I've missed.

    For example....

Copying the single.php file and creating a file called single-download.php will allow custom changes to the individual product pages. i.e. remove comments, date, author box, etc.

Creating a custom category/archive page uses a file called taxonomy-download_category.php. (information that should be added, among other things, to the grid layout tutorial)

    Custom tag page is taxonomy-download_tag.php

Are there options to create any other custom pages via the themes like these three? What are the file names we should use?

  2. Those are the three main templates you can create, but there are several more template parts.

You can customize the Purchase History shortcode: https://easydigitaldownloads.com/docs/customizing-the-download-history-template/

You can customize the Download History short code: https://easydigitaldownloads.com/docs/customizing-the-download-history-template/

You can customize the cart shown on the checkout page: https://easydigitaldownloads.com/docs/customizing-the-checkout-cart-template/

You can also customize the output of the [downloads] short code (undocumentated at this time).

The links above will walk you through the basic process, but essentially you will create a folder called "edd_templates" in your theme and then copy the files from easy-digital-downloads/includes/templates/* to the new folder, and then modify the files to your liking.

Thank you Pippin for the quick reply. I had hoped that I could modify the checkout/cart page as well.

BTW, did you get my email through your contact page?

  4. You can modify the checkout cart, but the checkout forms are a bit trickier. They can be modified via actions and filters, but not via template files (at least not yet).

I'm sure I did get your email, but I've been swamped on the email side of things today, so it'll likely be tomorrow before I can reply.
