I assume you mean the Groups in BuddyPress? Are you using BuddyPress 1.5? BuddyPress 1.5 uses another system. Result was that Dynamic Widgets did not detect BuddyPress anymore. This has been fixed in the latest development beta version or -when you have some programming knowledge- you can change a function in the Dynamic Widgets code which is explained in my blogpost.

This one is not displaying in activity page where it used to before. And this didnt help either

Whoops, I forgot to upload the latest changes. This was already fixed in my development environment. Anyway, I just uploaded it

Do I understand you right the widget does not act upon your setting for Activity pages? I’m not able to reproduce that unfortunately. What are you trying exactly? I might be missing something.

with 1.4.2 everything was working good except for the groups and its sub pages…The dynamic widgets didnt work with that page and its child pages.
Now when i updated with your beta version, the above error showed up and its not even working for activity page…The group pages are still unable to to be modified.

I’m sorry, Dynamic Widgets does not change CSS. It only shows or removes widgets from the sidebar following the rules you have set. The showing and hiding of widgets is NOT being done by using CSS or HTML.

When something goes awry when a widget is removed, that means most of the time one of the widgets remaining is not coded correctly. A closing div is missing for example. It seems by the way the CSS problem only occurs on the main Groups page. Within the groups everything looks OK.

I’d also suggest to close the guest account you have created immediately. This Forum is public, so everybody can see this and everybody is able to log into the site now.

Now, back to the original problem. You were not able to control the widgets within hierarchical groups, because of the use of BP Group Hierarchy. That should be possible now.

Thanks Qurl! But the problem was not about CSS but the widgets itself!
I still see those widgets that i didnt want in the group’s main page.Actually that was my issue. I see widgets that i dont want to see on groups main page. When i uninstall BP group hierarchy i dont see them but when BP group hierarchy is installed i see that dynamic widgets doesnt work for group’s main page. The problem should be with BP group hierarchy. Anyways thanks for doing this much,i’m thankful for the effort. I think i should not hijack this thread with more posts!

Just to be sure, did you use the ‘Groups (only main page)’ item in the BuddyPress section as the exception for not showing on the main group page?

    Yes i did!!!
