[resolved] products page images (14 posts)

    Hi,
    I'm building a shop with WordPress, and having wrestled unhappily for some time with wp-ecommerce, I am very excited to have found Dukapress, so firstly, thank you for what appears to be an awesomely brilliant solution.

    So, I'm pretty familiar with WordPress, and usually adapt a basic WP theme to fit my design needs. In this case, I'm adapting the twentyten theme, and am getting to grips with the Dukapress functionality.

    However, I am confused by the output of the product page;
    it appears to be outputting 2 versions of the product image, one of which seems to be hidden (I note that it's 'zc=1' - is this something to do with the z index?) in a LI with a UL class of 'dpsc_tabs' in my pre-set 'Product Thumbnail' dimensions, then it outputs the same image again in my 'Main Product Image' dimension, in a div with the class 'dpsc_main_image main_109';

    I've read this post: http://dukapress.org/blog/2010/09/23/we-live-in-a-bad-world/ but understood that to mean that images wouldn't show up at all, -is this in fact likely to be my problem?

    Thanks in advance from any help!

    Sorry, to clarify, it's the individual product page where I'm experiencing this problem.

    Hi,

    The two images, out of which one is smaller and other is large is for multiple images. If you have selected any image effect and hover on the smaller images, then the large image changes. If you will give me the site url, I can check it out.
    Please feel free to ask anything.
    Thanks :)

    Woohoo!
    Thanks for getting back :o)
    So, that makes some sense, although I've set the Product Page Image Effect to 'no effect', so thought it would just show the large version;
    here's a page where it's looking weird:
    http://www.goldenfleecetrading.co.uk/products/skud-2/

    Is it something i could change using just CSS do you think?

    Hi Sam, You can this in your style sheet:
    .dpsc_image_tab {display: none;}
    This will make them disappear.

    Just realised that too, thanks so much.
    I have another q about multiple prices, but will post that with an appropriate subject line!
    Thanks again

    I'm having the same problem. At the moment I'm running my site locally before I roll out changes, but I'm using the Arras 1.5 theme. Tried it with a few other themes and same result, including Twenty10 and LeanMagazine.
    I tried the CSS fix as above - it works on the leanmagainze theme but doesn't fix the problem in Arras or Twenty10 when I use it in their respective stylesheets.

    Any guidance would be really appreciated!

    I think this fix only applies to the dukapress stylesheet, in
    /wp-content/plugins/dukapress/css/dpsc-basic.css
    if you add that style to the main theme stylesheet it will probably be overwritten.

    *facepalm*

    Thank you for that. I shall now stand in the corner with the pointy hat on. All working now.

    :o)

    And obviously we need to remember to backup the Dukapress stylesheet before upgrading..

    If you edit dpsc-bsic.css it means that you'll almost always have problems when we issue a new version of DukaPress.

    You can actually include all the dpsc-basic.css stuff on your theme's style.css and totally bypass dpsc-basic.css. If you ask me, it is a better way to go about things. :)

    This has been done with these DukaPress child theme: http://dukapress.com/blog/2010/10/21/introducing-twentyshop/comment-page-1/#comment-12

    Thanks for the reply
    So would you suggest just copying the contents into my main theme's style sheet and deleting dpsc-basic.css then?

    Sorry, just read this: http://dukapress.com/blog/2010/10/21/introducing-twentyshop/ and understood better what you're suggesting.
    I'll try twentyshop and see how I get on!
    Thanks again
