Getting the white screen here too. But the file was uploaded through the Uploader. Any ideas?

    Two questions:

    * Is there supposed to be two copies of the force-download.php file? Or are we to MOVE the one from the plugin folder to the wp-content folder? Or does it matter?

    * Does it matter that the files to download are attached to the page that we're creating the download link on?

    Thank you for your help.

    Hi msmith29063,

Just a couple of questions: What steps did you follow that led you to a white screen? Also, can you provide me with an example of the shortcode you used as well as a link to your site?

    * Is there supposed to be two copies of the force-download.php file? Or are we to MOVE the one from the plugin folder to the wp-content folder? Or does it matter?

There only needs to be one copy of the force-download.php file and it needs to be in wp-content.

    * Does it matter that the files to download are attached to the page that we're creating the download link on?

It doesn't matter if files are attached to the page, but you need to make sure you're supplying the File URL, not the attachment URL. Like this: http://cl.ly/image/3h413H030p1n

    Hey Drew,

I'm having the same problem with the white screen except I have a "0" in the top left corner.

    url to page: http://veterans911.com/support-unemployed-veterans/

Its the "download our infographic" link.

    This is my shortcode code:
    [download label="Download Our Infographic"]http://veterans911.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/paralyzed600.jpg[/download]

The file that I actually need to be force downloaded is too big to upload through wp uploader, is there any work-around for downloading an ftp'd file?

Looks like there was a faulty strlen check in force-download.php causing the issues. Version 0.2.3 should fix your white-screen problems.

PLEASE NOTE: You MUST to replace the force-download.php file in your wp-content folder!

Let me know if you continue to have issues.

You should be able to upload it manually to the /uploads directory then use the direct link in that path to produce a forced download link, e.g.

    [download]http://yoursite.com/wp-content/uploads/yourfile.ext[/download]
