   What am I supposed to write about the "type".

   I have written "download" here and on clicking the button the file opens in different window only. It doesn't get downloaded.

   What to write?
   Please help.

   Same here. i believe is a function of our browsers. there are scripts available to force the downloads, and i think one was used by the Simple Download Button Shortcode which no longer seems to be available. also the force download doesn't usually work if the file is not hosted on your own site.

   I'm probably going to use WordPress download monitor, but that seems overkill for 1 single download.

   The type is only for he little icon inside the button. It does NOT force a file to be downloaded. All the plugin is doing, is to style a link :-)

   Sorry for posting in this old thread...

   But why don´t you add this feature?

   I´m searching for a

   small

   plugin with a download button

   and

   that forces downloads for a long time... I don´t want a big download plugin for a funtion like that...

   Your plugin would be perfect for much people when it has also this feature i think...
