DMSGuestbook
[resolved] Page numbers and navigation on same line (5 posts)

    I just started using DMSGuestbook because I was getting too much spam using other types of guestbook solutions.

    This is a great plugin!

    I noticed another post about 8 months ago, the person was asking how to put the page numbers and navigation on the same line. I would like to do this, as well, but I don't know how to change the dmsguestbook.php lines of 409, 412 and 785.

    « 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 »

    Can you tell me where to put the seperator and how to put them on the same line?
    Thank you!
    Susie

    409 $DMSGuestbookContent .= "$y ";

    412 $DMSGuestbookContent .= "$y ";

    784 /* create navigation */
    function navigation($num_rows1, $var_step, $var_width, $backward, $forward) {
    if($num_rows1 > $var_step) {
    $DMSGuestbookContent .= "<div class='css_navigation_char_position'>";
    $DMSGuestbookContent .= $backward . " " .$forward;
    $DMSGuestbookContent .= "</div>";
    }
    return $DMSGuestbookContent;
    }

    Hi Susie

    If you like to insert a separator like '|' for you guestbook, open dmsguestbook.php with an editor in your worpress plugin/dmsguestbook folder.

    Add the separator after the closed html link tag ( </a> ) on line 409 and 412.

    Greetings,
    Dani

    Hi Dani,
    I was able to get the separators around the page numbers. And I would also like to get the navigation arrows on the same line as the page numbers.

    I'm just learning PHP. Can you help me get started on how to change the Create navigation function:

    /* create navigation */
    function navigation($num_rows1, $var_step, $var_width, $backward, $forward) {
    $DMSGuestbookContent = (isset($DMSGuestbookContent)) ? $DMSGuestbookContent : '';
    if($num_rows1 > $var_step) {
    $DMSGuestbookContent .= "<div class='css_navigation_char_position'>";
    $DMSGuestbookContent .= $backward . " " .$forward;
    $DMSGuestbookContent .= "</div>";
    }

    Thank you!

    Hi Susie

    I've wrote down the code and it should solve your problem. Check that code here. On the left side you will see the original code of dmsguestbook.php version 1.17.2, on the right side (horizontal scrolling) you will see the changed text.

    Greetings,
    Dani
