Big time Crash (2 posts)

Getting DMSGuestbook up and running has been a challenge. Tonight I had a big time crash when I tried to change the navigation character. I wanted to change the navigation character from the standard < and > to <- and ->. When I tried to save this, I received a database error about missing options and a button to update the options. I pressed the update options and the entire options string appeared in the textfield for the > navigation character.

I ended up having to edit the options string manually because I could not reset the language through the admin page. In the database <language> was set to 0. I changed it to english.txt and all began to work again.

Please get rid of the "saving" message on the admin page. It causes the entire admin page to rewrite and look screwy.

Also, when the admin page first loads, the basic options are exposed. There is a huge area of white space under the last entry field and you've got to scroll all the way down the page before you can see any other option groups. It's ugly.

    Hi Victor

Your database crashing problem sounds strange, because all chars in this text fields are quoted. I've tried to save <- and -> on my test system and everything went fine.

Your other problem sounds also curious, usually all option tabs are shown together.

Please let me know what kind of technical environment do you have.
Following information could help to solve the problem:
    - Worpress version
    - DMSGuestbook version
    - Installed Plugins
    - Server Environment
    - Browser type and version

You can send me this information to dmsguestbook at danielschurter (.) net

    Greetings,
    Dani
