when i look at the sourcecode and the templates.php i noticed that the wordpress comments are loaded and displayed before disqus is loaded in its place. is this just for in case no disqus thread is found or also for better indexing. with disqus_disable_ssr you can turn it off and on. but i find no explanations nowhere?!

Hi Setcookie,
Correct, that's so comments are rendered -- ssr = server side rendering -- in the markup of the page so search engines can see them. There's a checkbox in the Advanced Options in the Disqus plugin called "Server Side Rendering" which toggles this on and off.
